PTFE is known as the "King of Plastics". Roy Plankter, the father of fluororesin, began to research Freon substitutes at DuPont in the United States in 1936. They collected part of tetrafluoroethylene and stored it in steel cylinders to prepare for the second. On the next day, the next experiment was carried out, but when the pressure reducing valve of the cylinder was opened the next day, there was no gas overflow. They thought it was a leak, but when the cylinder was weighed, they found that the cylinder did not lose weight. • Within the aerospace industry PTFE Tapes are used as glass breaker tape, heater cable and wire harness wraps, and as mold releases.
• The electrical industry uses these tapes for armature winding, cable wrapping, and splicing as well as spacers and slot liners
• Other applications include covering drying cylinders, lining chutes, release surface on bonding toolsguide rails and everywhere you require a highly slippery surface.
